ABOUT

Hi, Welcome to Ages and Stages

My name is Kim (Miss Kim to many) and I would like to welcome you to my page.

I have worked in childcare and early childhood for over 30 years now. Connecting with and supporting children, parents, families and educators has been my passion. Like so many of you, over the years I have worn different hats : as a wife, a mother, a friend, a teacher, a director, a mentor and business owner. Inspiring parents and educators to believe in themselves and enjoy their daily experiences with young children is what has led me to writing about and sharing my view of children, life and family.

With four adult children and an always supportive husband, my family journey has been one of my greatest gifts. It has not always been fun and games and the picture perfect life we dream about just doesn’t happen sometimes. I believe though that working through these challenges is what helps create our strength and wisdom for all those “next times”.

Writing about family, along with my daily experiences in childcare and a general love for the simple things in life is how I hope to bring Ages and Stages to fruition.

Whatever age or stage you are in life – I invite you to join me for information sharing, support and most importantly some laughs along the way.

This whole blogging scenario is new to me. When  I think about it though, I’ve actually been blogging in a way for years….newsletters, parenting handouts, staff education and Facebook. Chatting and storytelling is all a part of it and I’m looking forward to sharing these with you all.

If I had to sum up my philosophy of life in three words they would be:-

LOVE - to give and receive love in all its forms
- to love life and embrace the challenges as well as  the successes
LAUGH - to laugh spontaneously, often and to see the lighter side of life
- to bring joy to others
LIFE - to live it, to feel it and to understand that all that happens is a lesson of sorts

Bye for now

Kim
